Hi folks, sorry for the problems with the coupon again. I just got this email from Hewlett-Packard. The bottom line is that the coupon is good now.

Here is what they said:

It was brought to our attention that HP Home and Home Office, accidentally set the limit of the inventory to low. We apologize for the inconvenience, but everything should be corrected. We tested the coupon late afternoon (4/09/07) and again this morning and it was working properly. Please continue offering the coupon and we appreciate your patients with this issue.

It would be best if you did not purchase this PC. I’ve had mine since Christmas and it is now dead after owning it for two weeks. We have called support for Gateway and HSN and have gotten the run around. Your best bet is to save your money and buy an HP from a local store.

The maxtor drives in Raid 0 is insanely fast, but it can cause loss of important data should one of them fail. I recommend RAID 5 with parity checking (its safe and requires the least amount of disks). The barebone system is looking good though!
