Put Together a Powerhouse PC from this Gigabyte G1975X Barbones Kit — All You Add is Storage
Filed under: Barebones, Bargain Powerhouse Systems, Build It Yourself, Dual Core Processor, Intel Pentium 4, Tiger Direct
Today’s deal of the day is another one of those do it yourself projects of mine. This one is even easier than the last one because this Gigabyte G1975X Barebone Kitfor has everting except the hard drive (the other one needed a graphics card in addition to the hard drive) Like the last project, this one is built on top-rated components which is why I am taking the time to lay out this deal. Its a lot ease for me to only recommend fully assembled systems but the beauty of these projects is that you get a lot of the benefits of putting an entire system together locally from selected parts but most of the work is already done. The result is a system which will do everything you want and more.
Visit Tiger.Com through this link to get this deal on the Gigabyte G1975X Barebone Kit
Here is what the system already has.
- Gigabyte G1975X Intel Socket 775 ATX Motherboard
- Ultra Blue Aluminus ATX Mid-Tower Case with Clear Side, Front USB, Firewire and Audio Ports
- Intel Pentium D 930 3.0GHz / 4MB Cache / 800MHz FSB /Dual-Core / Presler / OEM / Socket 775 / Processor
- Corsair TWINX 1024MB PC5400 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 Memory (2 x 512MB)
- XFX GeForce 6600 GT / 256MB GDDR3 / PCI Express / SLI /Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card
All that’s needed is a hard-drive and the operating system (if you have a copy of Windows XP lying around, it can be used on two machines so you can install it after the hard drive is put in). What hard drive do I suggest? Since the motherboard accepts SATA-II hardrives, I’ll give you a couple of choices. The first choice is a little pricey, the second choice is more cost effective but you might want to have someone set up the RAID 0 for you.
1)
Seagate 500GB SATA-II
Drive for $329.99 (ouch). But then have you ever owned a 500 GB drive before?Thisone isSATA II-300 and a has a16 MB cache (fast!) With this choice, the system will cost you $1329.98 and you can order it by visiting Tiger.Com through this link (which takes you to the barebones deal)
Add the barebones to your cart and search for the term Seagate 500GB SATA-II, add the drive to your cart and check out.
2.)
Seagate 160GB SATA-300 x 2
for $49.95 each or a total of $99.90. You need to have them put in RAID 0 or one of those new higher RAID levels but you can probably get that done locally for less than an hour of shop time. With this choice, the entire system will cost you $1077.97 which is a screaming deal for this system. You cannot build a system like this at any online assemble your own shop for this price. They charge you extra for each part you buy which is how they make their money.
This deal is better than any pre-built system I can recommend to you as well as any of the build it yourself . You can order it by visiting Tiger.Com through this link (which takes you to the barebones deal) Add the barebones to your cart and search for the term Seagate 160 GB SATA-II, addquantity two of thedrives to your cart and check out

Get This Asus A8N 32-SLI-Deluxe Barebone Kit & In 2 Easy Steps Build One
Filed under: Computers, reviews, shopping, technology
Asus A8N 32-SLI-Deluxe Barebone Kit has the Asus A8N 32-SLI-Deluxe. Guess which board 2 MP RAM Plus and classy RAM at that Corsair TWINX 2048MB PC3200 Memory (2 x 1024MB)!
our current choice is under $2000. what does the other system have that this one doesn’t (besides an inferiour motherboard)?
What shall we add? A XFX GeForce 7800 GTX Highest OverClocked, a Seagate 500GB SATA-II
, an OEM DVD Burner and a Bluetooth Logitech Cordless Laser Desktop instead of the same one without the bluetooth. That all does not make the thousand dollar difference worth it. Instead you can buy this the model I am recommending the Asus A8N 32-SLI-Deluxe Barebone Kit
and put together a better system yourself by buying some parts from Tiger and letting a local shop slam it togeether if you don’t have the tech knowhow. Here is what I would recommend:
1) Get two of theseHitachi 250GB SATA-II

for $89.99 each and have them setup in a RAID array. That will etiher get faster storage say in a RAID 0 (or one of the new higer numbers) or redundant storage in a RAID 1 or its equivelent. This saves you money over the one big drive and gives you speed on top of the savings.
2) Get this XFX GeForce 7800 GT 256MB PCIe
for $299.00 — this is almost the equivelent of the higher priced card on the system we ARE NOT BUYING. Even has two DVI ports in case you want to plug in a 30 inch montior like I want to.
By the way in case you were wondering, I’m scoping out this system for myself and have been putting a lot of work into getting the best deal for myself which means I’m putting a lot of work into getting the best system you can get. The only thing remaining is DVD Burner so
3)
Get the
NEC 16x DVD Burner
as well go wtih the one they put on the other system, its only $39.00. So the parts would cost you a total of $520 so your saving over $400 over the other sysem and getting a slightly higer priced (and better) motherboard.
So you can put together what Alienware would sell you for almost $5000 for just a tad over half that. You can start the process by clicking here on this name "Asus A8N 32-SLI-Deluxe Barebone Kit" or on the image of our deal comptuer below
