What I like about the system :
the Athlon 64 chip is faster than most budget Athlon 64
systems
you get 1 GB of RAM — usually budget systems only give
you 512K
The DVD Writer is one of
those new LightScribe drives. With special media (which DO NOT COST MUCH
MORE THAN REGULAR CD-ROMs or DVDs, you can burn and
then your disk over and print a personalized label right on the media,
no more messy paper labels.
What I don’t like about this system is the lack of a
video card. So the second part of the two part deal is to go back to the
CompUSA. This link will put you in the upgrade department. Choose video cards
and add a Radeon 9550 Video Card, 8x AGP for what looks like $109.99 but the price is AFTER the $20 rebate which you can mail in with your other rebate. So your total out of pocket is $929.98 but you get seventy bucks back so the total for this system (which includes you opening up the computer briefly and popping in the video card) is $859.98 and you have a nice peppy system ready for the new Windows XP 64 bit operating system!

System for only 579.95 . This system is refurbished but comes with the full guarantee from HP and my experience is that these refurbished systems are just as good if not better as they are reassembled at the HP plan. On the same website that is selling this system, they are also selling a Compaq with the same model number for $1,108.95. —Compaq Presario S6900NX Desktop PC . The only difference between the two models made by the same company with different brands is that the Compaq has a slightly faster CPU Athlon 64 3200+ versus the Athlon 64 +3000 in our bargain system.
